Uniform will be provided for most positions. Please bring your own suits for your Supervisor rotation. There is a breakroom provided for staff, but no meals are provided. You can bring your own meal. You will earn PTO time during your training. Please review your employee handbook for futher details. Host company will be able to assist the J1's in providing them to stay at the hotel for 2 weeks while they are searching for housing based on occupancy. Please reach out to your Host company/ HR BEFORE booking your flight. Host company asks for them to get a head start researching housing before their arrival as well so that way if they can find housing before the two weeks end. All other charges are your own responsibility. Airport pick up is not provided. You can take a taxi to the hotel.
Transportation: You can get around Miami using the metro-rail system or the public buses as well. While you can definitely walk around certain parts of the city, especially downtown, though travelling any large distances might be challenging without a car. While you don’t have to have one to live in Miami, it would be helpful to have one. At the below website, you can see more specific information about Miami public transportation.
Housing: You can find a one bedroom apartment unfurnished in Miami for just under $1000, so apartments in Miami are fairly average price-wise, sitting at as low as $600 per for a single bedroom unfurnished apartment. Furnished single bedroom apartments can go for around $900 to $1000 per month. If you are having trouble getting housing, you may wish to ask your employer if they offer any temporary housing, or you could use a service like Airbnb. Climate: Miami is located at one of the most southern part of the Florida “panhandle”, meaning that it has a fairly tropical climate. This means that Florida experiences frequent short bursts of rain and year-round warm weather. It is also usually very humid in Miami is well, making it feel even hotter. All of that said though, Miami is flanked on the east by beautiful coastline, and beaches that can be used year-round thanks to the perpetual warm weather.
