5* Luxury Resort seeking talented chef! Rotate through Entremetier station, Hot Appetizers, Garde Manger, and Fish station! Train under the amazing Robert Curry, One Star Michelin Chef. He's been at this property since 2005. This luxury hotel is a member of Relais & Chateaux, an international association of 427 elite independent hotels and restaurants in 43 countries. Perched on the slopes of Rutherford Hill, overlooking the valley of verdant vines, this property echoes the Mediterranean feeling of the wine country with its French accented country inn ambiance.
Placement Remarks
One meal per shift is provided complimentary. Complimentary uniform. Candidate to bring their own knives.
The property will provide housing up to 14 days, based on hotel availability. The trainee will need to purchase a car and have a drivers license from their home country which will a shorter process to obtain a drivers license in the state of CA.
Host Employer is offering $2000 incentive upon your arrival.
Pay: $20 per hour
One way coach airfare to the Bay Area once Visa is approved. Reimbursement provided upon arrival at Auberge du Soleil via Accounts Payable with proper documentation of cost of airfare and proof of payment.

Housing:
The average one bedroom apartment in Napa, California costs around $2,000 a month. It is recommended that candidates reach out to other J1s in the area so they can try to find housing with one of them to help lower the cost of their monthly housing. Please note, without established credit your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with at least $5,000 as startup capital and to help secure housing. Transportation:
Travel around Napa Valley can be challenging depending on where you are living. It is entirely possible that you may need a car during your time here. Remember to consider the cost of purchasing a vehicle and vehicle insurance. On average, a J-1 participant can expect to pay upwards of $400 on a used car payment per month and $150.00 per month for vehicle insurance. That being said, there is a modest bus system that goes around Napa called The VINE.
