Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that everything runs smoothly in the restaurant
  • Responsible for leading and leading the restaurant team
  • Organization of the efficient utilization of the outlet
  • Ensuring effective employee deployment

  • Consideration of the culinary skills of the Althoff Hotels and ensuring the emphasis of the individual concept of the restaurant
  • Ensuring a high level of wine expertise
  • Optimal care and advice for guests
  • Recording and immediate handling of guest requests and complaints
  • Control, booking and completion of guest accounts
  • Supporting employees in day-to-day operational business
  • Control and implementation of all hygiene regulations as well as cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant
  • Control of stocks and disposals
  • Regular training and education for employees

  • Accomodation: we do have several accomodation buildings in the vincinity of up to 10km which cost around 250-350€/month, mobility is a little bit of an issue as busses are running but not allday long and only with reduced services on weekends, so ideally we hire people with drivers licence / cars; they are reachable by bike however as we will have several weeks of snow in the winter season this is no all-year solution; many ccolleagues share rides but on a private basis; unfortunately there is no internet provided so each tennant has to arrange an individual contract with the phone company, however there are washing facilities in the buildings and either kitchenettes in the apartments or communal kitchen areas in some of the houses
  • A salary rate of about €3000 to €3500 gross
  • Food: free of charge in staff cafeteria
  • Uniform: for chefs we provide full uniform incl. shoes and that is all washed by the hotel, for other positions we provide uniform (will be cleaned by the hotel) except shirts (to be washed individually)
  • Family & Friends rates
  • Employee referals are valued with 1000€ bonus
  • For each full calendar year additional pay for Christmas (50% of base /tarif salary paid in November) and vacation money of € 200/year
  • 25 days of vacation with a 5 days work week, amount of vacation days is rising with duration of tenure so after 3 year it reaches 30 days
  • No all in contracts! If salary is based on tarif / union level then no xtra hours included (so all xtra hours are written down and compensated in off time later on); if salary is above tarif / union level there will be a fixed amont of included xtra hours but with a limit

Requirements

  • Completed training and / or studies in the hotel industry / gastronomy
  • Experience in leadership roles in the F&B sector
  • High F&B competence
  • Knowledge of budgeting
  • Good command of MS Office products
  • Enjoys dealing with and leading people
  • Very good communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and excellent manners
  • organizational skills and creativity
  • At least mediocre to advanced German
