New Orleans Luxury Hotel is seeking a candidate to rotate and train through as Garde Manger, Hot Line Demi Chef, & Chef de Partie!

Rate of pay: $18 per hour

It is customary in the US to work in “gratuity” positions. In these positions, you will receive a base hourly salary plus gratuity (tips). While the amount of a gratuity is ultimately at the discretion of the guest, the customary tip is 15- 20% of the total bill before tax. Based on history, you may expect to earn around $18.00 per hour.

We offer the jacket, but they need to be in black pants. A complimentary meal per shift is offered.

After 90 days of employment, you will be accruing 3.08 hours per pay period to use for Personal Time off.

The hotel will provide up to 14 days of complimentary room and tax which may be shared with another J1. Meals, internet, movies, etc will be your own responsibility. The hotel does not provide airport pick up. You can take an Uber to the hotel or a taxi.

You can find a 1-bedroom unfurnished apartment in the city for around $1100+ per month. The closer to the city center, the more expensive they will be. With no established credit, you can expect to pay the first and last month’s rent as a deposit for an apartment. HRC recommends you bring $3,000+ as startup capital upon arrival.
