Outlets Server $3.50+tips
Outlets Supervisor $12

Banquet Captain - $14

Restaurant Supervisor - $12

Beverage Supervisor - $13

It is customary in the US to work in “gratuity” positions. In these positions, you will receive a base hourly salary plus gratuity (tips). While the amount of a gratuity is ultimately at the discretion of the guest, the customary tip is 15-20% of the total bill before tax. Based on history, you may expect to earn around $10-$15 per hour”.

Benefits:
The employer will provide a uniform for the Host and Room Service/Restaurant Server rotations. For Outlets Supervisor, the employer has requested the J1 to bring professional business attire. (A suit for gentlemen and slacks/skirt with a blouse for ladies.) For all rotations, the J1 will need to bring appropriate and comfortable non-slip shoes.

The employer will provide discounted meals per shift.

Host Company will pick candidate up at the airport and will provide 14 day accommodations.

Housing:
Housing in Mobile can be fairly affordable with a one bedroom apartment starting around $700 per month unfurnished and depending on the area. Please note, without established credit your first and last month’s rent may be required as a deposit. HRC recommends you arrive with at least $2,500 as startup capital and to help secure housing.

Transportation:

Mobile has a few public transportation options available if staying downtown including a bus service and bike rentals. If living outside the downtown area the purchase of a vehicle is encouraged. If purchasing a vehicle, vehicle insurance will also be required. You can expect to pay around $150 per month for insurance. HRC recommends you bring an additional $2,000 if purchasing a vehicle.

Climate:

Because Mobile is in the Southern United States it can be hot and humid at times. You can expect to see rain an average of 114 days out of the year with an average 66 inches annually. Mobile can also get very hot with average temperature during the summer reaching more then 90F (32C). During the winter months the temperature will drop to around 40F (4C) with little to no chance of snow.
