San Francisco is a world class city, acting as the center piece of the appropriately named “San Francisco Bay Area”. With all of the typical amenities you would expect in a city of its caliber, like restaurants of every kind, shopping of equal or even better quality, the city is uniquely historic as well. Founded all the way back in 1776, San Francisco is among the oldest west coast cities in America, and it shows in their classic style of architecture. One of the most famous attractions in San Francisco, and the only moving U.S. National Historic Landmark, are the San Francisco Cable Cars, which double as both a landmark and a handy way of getting around the city! Other world famous attractions include Alcatraz Island, Fisherman’s Wharf, and The Golden Gate Bridge along with Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, Union Square, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, among many others! In the “Local attractions” section of this document is a list of some of the exciting things that San Francisco has to offer you, plus links where you can find out more information about specifics.
